The school

Fridtjof-Nansen-School, Hannover

The school program at Fridtjof Nansen includes five compatible elements:

  • The expression of a new culture of learning can be found in self-learning centers, e.g., theme rooms were students can fully experience and understand real phenomenon
  • To play a stronger role in the surrounding community, the school uses its position as a center of learning to offer and promote a range of activities and cultural events, including judo, rock climbing, wrestling, and team sports. In addition to building stronger bodies, these community offerings help build self-esteem and minimize disruptive behavior.
  • From an organizational standpoint, the school administration has enacted comprehensive quality-assurance standards and innovative time and project management methods.
  • Because a school environment should allow students to both learn effectively and live healthfully, freetime and well-designed playground and sports facilities can help promote a child’s development in a variety of ways.
  • The demands of a comprehensive health initiative include  a more dynamic daily rhythm of classroom activities, a balanced diet, plenty of opportunities for movement and physical expression, and a true ergonomic classroom environment.
