VS is an active member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).  This network for the responsible involvement of companies in the global economy, which was established in 2000 by the then UN General Secretary Kofi Annan, now counts as members over 7000 companies from all the world’s regions. The aim of the Global Compact is to promote through the power of joint action the social involvement of companies – so that the economy as a whole becomes part of the solution to the growing problems of globalisation.

With our commitment to the UN Global Compact we adhere to a catalogue of ten principles in the fields of human rights, social standards, environmental and climate protection, and anti-corruption. We promote the principles, support adherence to these principles and implement them through concrete action in company practice.

With our annual report "Communication on Progress" (COP) we show what efforts VS is making to support the goals and principles of the Global Compact.
